Platzregen an.
bisschen in Bath herum.
Leben in Bath.
Hello and
welcome to the special edition Bath & Bristol. Because we had and have holidays,
Giulia and me went to Bath on Monday morning, stayed there until Wednesday,
then went to Bristol und finally returned yesterday evening. We had an amazing
time there and we’ve seen lots of things.
First, we
had to take another train than we were intending to take because of a storm in
the night from Sunday to Monday. When we arrived in Bath we were greeted with
heavy rain. We managed to reach the hotel, though, with totally wet trousers
and shoes. The landlord was very kind and we got access to our room
immediately, where we dried our clothes and waited for the rain to pass. Then
we started our tour through the city with our map. At first, we were visiting Bath
Abbey and then took part in a guided tour to its tower. After that we went to
the Roman Baths which cause Bath its famousness. Even today, hot water is
streaming to the surface, only there is nobody using it nowadays. Because the
whole building and its exhibition were very interesting, we spent more than 2
hours in there. Of course we also made a visit to the souvenir shop. There was
not much time of the day left so we just went to the Pulteney Bridge (one of 3
bridges in the world with houses on it) and then strolled around the city.
Finally, we had a very tasty dinner and a cozy evening in the hotel room. I
have to admit that we were always going to bed quite early because we were
walking all day long.
On Tuesday
we had breakfast in a little café and then we went to the Assembly Rooms, the
Circus and the Royal Crescent. The two latter were constructed and built by
John Wood and his son. Afterwards, we passed the Queen’s Square on our way to
the Jane Austen Centre. It is a really interesting exhibition about herself and
her life – especially about her life in Bath. Just a little warning: After
visiting this, you will not only want to buy the whole souvenir shop but also
start immediately reading all her books. ;) After that we ate English Cream Tea
on the Pulteney Bridge and spent the rest of the day with strolling through the
shopping area of Bath.
Wednesday
we were just wandering around in the city… and we took a train to Bristol,
where we then left our stuff in the hotel and started our tour through Bristol.
We passed another Queen’s Square, then we arrived at the Floating Harbour that
runs parallel to the river Avon (which also runs through Bath). After a short
lunch we directly went to the Mshed, an interactive museum about the people and
places of Bath. We then walked along the said Floating Harbour until we reached
the SS Great Britain which is said to be one of the first steam ships (of
course it is not used any more). Walking the same way back and deeper into the
city, we saw the Bristol Cathedral, the city hall and some other parts of
Bristol before we had very delicious pizzas for dinner.
The
Thursday started with a visit to the St. Mary Redcliffe Church and a
sightseeing tour by bus. We passed the incredibly beautiful (and expensive)
Clifton Village with the park The Downs and the Clifton Suspension Bridge over
the Avon. We visited the shopping centre Cabot Circus as well. Finally we
climbed on the Cabot tower (amazing view) and drank our last cup of tea near
the Harbour… and then we went by train back to Torquay. Now we are quite exhausted because we’ve
been walking an awful lot, but nevertheless we are very pleased and happy.
There is just one detail that slightly destroys the happiness: homework. ;D Now
I will just let the pictures tell you about our holiday…
On a eu
Lundi matin, on n’a
Puis, on a
Mardi, on a mangé
livres.
sommes promenées à Floating Harbour jusqu’au bateau SS Great Britain.
Jeudi, on a

Dank.
I’m putting
quite a great effort into this blog and I hope you like it. To know, whether I
could improve something, or whether you would like to hear more about other

matter whether they are anonymous or not. Thank you very much.

Also ich lese deinen Blog wirklich gern :)
PS: Du kennst mich, vllt errätst du ja wer ich bin ;DD
Hey!
